Natural direction does not mean no direction

Portrait notes

Natural direction does not mean no direction

The best sessions feel relaxed because the structure is already there. Direction should become part of the quiet.

Most people do not need to become someone else for a good photograph. They need a clear room, a calm pace, and enough direction to stop solving the camera.

Around the DMV, portrait sessions often happen in ordinary places: a campus walkway, a neighborhood corner, a quiet patch of evening light. The location matters less than whether the person can settle inside it.

Gomeraw sessions are built around that balance: polished enough to feel intentional, easy enough to feel true.

The camera should make the room quieter, not louder.
